Rosenthal Wine Tasting

Rosenthal is one of my favorite wine import that focuses on "terroir" driving wine.

Neal Rosenthal started in 1977 with his one-man retail operation located in New York City.
Neal, having stepped away from his corporate and international law practice, conceived of this project. Joined shortly thereafter by his partner: Kerry Madigan, the two expanded their fledgling company, known as Rosenthal Wine Merchant from its retail base to become an importer and distributor of fine wine and specialty food products.

The objective from the outset was to work as directly as possible with growers who were dedicated to producing limited quantities of the finest quality wines and who shared the RWM passion for "terroir", that ephemeral "sense of place".

Welcome Trey Stephenson from Rosenthal.

TUSCANY VS. NAPA VALLEY Wine Tasting

This will be a first at Perrine’s; Two wineries will be represented by their owners in this tasting to compare the style of two countries.

Welcome Guiseppe from BRANCATELLI - Tuscany As a young child Giuseppe Brancatelli worked in his father’s vineyard where he was first introduced to the art and labor of winemaking. He grew up helping his father in every aspect of the vineyard management: from pruning the vines, to weeding the rows and harvesting the grapes. At 20, he made the decision to leave Italy and pursue a career as a restaurateur in Holland.  After 27 years of pairing food and wine in his many successful restaurants, Giuseppe developed a particular passion for the wines of Tuscany and formed a desire to follow in the winemaking footsteps of his father.

In 2003, after years of scouring Italy in search of the perfect location, Giuseppe purchased 35 acres of pristine property in the small, coastal town of Val di Cornia and planted his vineyards.

Located less than half mile from the Tyrrhenian Sea and two miles from the Apennines Mountains, the Brancatelli estate benefits from an ideal microclimate and soil composition that allow Giuseppe grow grapes organically.

Welcome Mike Lamborn from LAMBORN- Napa ValleyLamborn Family Vineyards is located at 2,200 feet above sea level, high atop Howell Mountain, Napa Valley. Howell Mountain’s volcanic soil, combined with its distinct mezzo climate, provides our small 8 acre vineyard with ideal growing conditions. This environment produces Howell Mountain Zinfandels and Cabernet Sauvignons of the highest quality and intensity, with all winemaking by Heidi Barrett of Screaming Eagle fame.  The grapes which eventually become Lamborn wines are exclusively from our estate vineyard.  We take that formula one step further by farming the vineyard ourselves.  Our annual farming decisions are based on quality and nothing else. Howell Mountain holds the distinction of being the very first sub-appellation of Napa Valley, granted so by the BATF in 1983.  Consistently producing some of Napa Valley’s top wines, Lamborn Family Vineyards has been growing winegrapes on Howell Mountain since the late 1970’s.  With over three decades of farming excellence, Heidi Barrett has been crafting Lamborn wines since 1997, striving to bring quality, value, and the "Wow!" factor in every bottle for you to enjoy! Taste the Heidi Barrett, Howell Mountain, and Lamborn Family Vineyards difference for yourself.  Lamborn wines are available on our website solely for our Exclusive Members and can be found in hand-picked fine restaurant and wine shop locations.  Learn more about our vineyard and our story.

We will be tasting:

2010 Bancatelli Valle Del Sogno, Cabernet Sauvignon - Cabernet Franc, Tuscany
2010 Giuseppe Brancatelli, Syrah, Tuscany
