Wine & Food Pairings – Keep it Simple

Planning a dinner party or a special meal? Creating a meal with a ton of ingredients can be time-consuming and expensive, which makes pairing the wine more difficult, or sadly— the last priority! Sometimes the best things in life are the simple pleasures. Our advice it to choose quality ingredients that don’t need a bunch of extra flavors. Here are some of our favorites!

Chablis & Shrimp

The high acidity and minerality in the Chardonnay from Chablis makes it a perfect pairing for most seafood. Try a bottle of Chablis with: clams cooked in butter and some of the wine; lemon butter scallops; or, with grilled shrimp and a touch of white pepper & fresh herbs.

Tempranillo & Steak

The touch of vanilla alongside the intense blue and blackberry fruit notes of a smoky Spanish Tempranillo definitely need hearty grilled meats. Try a Tempranillo with lamb shank or a perfectly grilled steak, seasoned with a touch of salt and black pepper.

Wine counts as a vegetable right…
