2019 Foradori "Morei" Teroldego, Dolomiti IGT, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy

The 2019 “Morei” is a brooding, mineral-charged expression of Teroldego, drawn from the heart of Foradori’s biodynamic vineyards. Dense black fruit, crushed stone, and savory herbs define its aromatic core, with hints of tobacco, dark cocoa, and iron lending gravitas. Structured yet vibrant, the wine offers fine, sinewy tannins and electric acidity, finishing with length and smoky depth that speaks to its riverbed origins.

ABOUT THE WINE
Sourced from the stony, sandy soils of the Morei vineyard—where the Noce River once flowed—this wine reflects a warmer, more powerful side of Teroldego than its sibling, “Sgarzon.” The 2019 vintage was vinified entirely in clay amphorae (tinajas), with an extended skin maceration of eight months. The result is a wine that melds power and finesse: aromas of blackberry, ink, and menthol unfold into a palate marked by tension and earth-driven complexity. Certified biodynamic and farmed regeneratively, Morei is a natural pairing for grilled game, braised beef, or hard mountain cheeses.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Foradori, a benchmark estate in northern Italy’s Trentino region, has transformed Teroldego from a rustic local variety into a vehicle for terroir and finesse. Since the early 2000s, Elisabetta Foradori has farmed biodynamically, embracing a regenerative, soil-focused approach that treats the vineyard as a living organism. Now joined by her children, the winery emphasizes minimal intervention and deep respect for nature, fermenting and aging their amphora wines without additives. Their focus on genetic diversity and place-specific expression has made Foradori a leading voice in European natural wine, producing bottlings of depth, integrity, and soulful precision.
