Because of the small crop in 2024, these parcels were combined rather than bottled separately, bringing together the deeper fruit and structure of the older vines in Les Chaumes with the finer, more delicate character of the Pinot Fin planted in Les Chambres. The vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically on clay-limestone soils, with the grapes harvested by hand. Natural fermentation on indigenous yeasts and gentle extraction preserve the purity of the fruit, while approximately 13 months of élevage in oak barrels, including around 40% new oak, adds texture and subtle spice without overwhelming the wine.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eABOUT THIS PRODUCER\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eSon of the late Marc Morey, Michel Morey, and his wife, Fabienne (from the Pillot clan), began the Morey-Coffinet Domaine in the late 1970s with a dowry of vineyards bestowed on them by two families with extensive history in the region. With a stable foundation of 1er Crus from the southeast-facing hillside, the whites speak to the very essence of Chassagne, with fragrant aromas framed by powerful minerality. The reds capture the roasted, muscular aromas of Chassagne terroir and display silky texture and balance.Michel’s son, Thibault, joined the business in the late 1990s, and the domaine’s wines have since reached new heights. Every week, father and son taste each cuvée together in an ancient cellar, exchanging opinions and sharing experiences. Shy, soft-spoken Thibault continues to push the quality of his domaine to a whole different level with his expressive, powerful, wonderfully hedonistic wines.
