ABOUT THIS WINE:

The Estate Chardonnay is the signature white wine of Talley Vineyards; a pure expression of Arroyo Grande Valley's cool climate and calcareous soil. Made in a classic old world style, incorporating barrel fermentation and aging, it was the first Chardonnay produced in the AVA dating back to the inaugural vintage of 1986.

Barrel fermented with native yeasts. Aged 12 months in 25% new French oak barrels, 3 months in tank.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER:

The goal at Talley Vineyards is to produce estate-grown Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that best reflect the unique characteristics of each of the Talley family’s five San Luis Obispo County vineyards. Talley is located in the Arroyo Grande Valley on California’s South Central Coast, eight miles from the Pacific Ocean. The Talley family has owned the land for three generations with a focus on vegetables until the first grapes were planted on the property in 1986, which the land was well equipped for, given its rolling hills and breezy climate. Brian Talley started his work on the family vegetable farm at the age of 12, and he now runs the vineyard program which is about 36,000 cases today. Of special note is the Rosemary’s Vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, named after Brian’s mother and the estate matriarch. All wines produced under the Talley label are grown, produced, and bottled by Talley. They also make a line of value wines under the Bishop’s Peak label.
