ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Château La Conseilante is one of the oldest estates in Pomerol with a history that dates back to the 18th century when Madame Catherine Conseillan managed the vineyard and winery. In 1756 wine was being made and marketed as La Conseillante, making it one of the original Pomerol estates. In 1871 the Nicolas family purchased the Château and today the fifth generation of the family is in charge. The label has always been a distinct purple color to represent the vibrant hue of the wine and the unique violet floral aromas often present in the bouquet.

The estate consists of 12.3 hectares of vines that are virtually unchanged since the early 1700's, located on the eastern edge of the Pomerol plateau, surrounded by other prestigious estates. The vineyard is planted to 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.
