ABOUT THE WINE

The 2009 Brunello di Montalcino is made from Biondi-Santi’s proprietary BBS11 clone of Sangiovese Grosso, selected from estate vineyards with vines older than ten years, including some of the oldest parcels normally reserved for Riserva. It was aged for three years in Slavonian oak and then benefited from extended bottle refinement. The nose brings together red fruit and forest-floor notes with warm balsamic tones and flinty hints. On the palate, firm, vertical tannins and vibrant freshness lead into a savory finish marked by tobacco and vintage leather.

Grape: Sangiovese Grosso (BBS11 clone)   Alcohol: 13.5% ABV
