ABOUT THIS WINE

The 2010 Heitz Cellar Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a single-vineyard expression of Oakville, made from Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep ruby in color, it opens with vivid boysenberry and mint, followed by eucalyptus and citrus peel. With air, darker notes of chocolate and spice begin to emerge. Firm tannins and pronounced acidity give the wine impressive structure and the capacity to evolve over many years. This is a powerful, tightly wound vintage that benefits from a long decant or additional time in the cellar.

Serve alongside prime rib, grilled ribeye, lamb or other richly flavored dishes that can match its structure.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Joe and Alice Heitz founded Heitz Cellar in Napa Valley in 1961. The winery became a pioneer of vineyard-designated Cabernet Sauvignon, beginning its celebrated Martha’s Vineyard bottling in 1966 after Joe Heitz formed a close partnership with the May family of Oakville. Heitz Cellar remains known for its classically styled, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignons and its focus on distinctive Napa Valley vineyard sites.
