ABOUT THE WINE
Joh. Jos. Prüm’s 2016 Bernkasteler Lay Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel is a site-specific Mosel Riesling made from 100% Riesling. The 375mL half bottle comes from a parcel of 50–60-year-old vines in the historic core of Bernkasteler Lay; it was the last parcel picked in 2016.
Expect a discreet, slowly opening bouquet, followed by a racy, fresh palate with finely layered pear, white cherry, slate, honeycomb and floral notes. Fine acidity keeps the sweetness lively, while the finish is clear, precise and well structured. 7.5% alcohol.

Joh. Jos. Prüm is based in Bernkastel-Wehlen in Germany’s Mosel region. The estate is known for Riesling wines identified by their individual vineyard sites and Prädikat classifications. This bottling expresses the Bernkasteler Lay site and the Auslese Goldkapsel selection from the 2016 vintage.
