2016 Marchesi di Barolo Barbaresco, Piedmont, Italy

Full and elegant, this wine offers intense perfume with clean scents of ripe fruit, dog roses, tobacco and spices.

The grapes used in the production of this wine come from the best vineyards with prevalently clay and calcareous soils.in the communities of Barbaresco and Neive. Grapes are collected exclusively by hand, quickly brought to the cellar for destalking and soft pressing. The wine ages one year in Slavonian and French oak barrels, then is blended into a large classic cask of Slavonian oak. The wine completes its aging in the bottle for some months before release.

A founder of the Barolo category, Marchesi di Barolo remains a family estate
representing the great wine traditions of Piedmont, controlling 430 acres
of UNESCO World Heritage vineyards, including holdings in the exclusive Barolo crus
of Cannubi, Sarmassa and Coste di Rose.
