2020 Banfi Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy - 375ml
Elegant and classically styled, the 2020 Banfi Brunello di Montalcino offers a refined expression of Sangiovese Grosso from one of Montalcino’s most iconic estates. Aromas of dried cherry, blood orange, tobacco leaf, and forest floor emerge with aeration, framed by subtle spice and floral notes. The palate is medium-bodied and precise, showing red berry fruit, earthy undertones, and polished tannins balanced by vibrant acidity. The finish is long and savory, echoing with hints of leather, anise, and mineral.

ABOUT THE WINE
Crafted entirely from Sangiovese Grosso, this Brunello is sourced from estate vineyards on the southern slopes of Montalcino, where well-drained galestro and clay soils, combined with optimal sun exposure, promote concentration and balance. The 2020 vintage benefited from a warm, stable growing season with well-timed rains, producing wines with excellent aromatic clarity, freshness, and aging potential.
Fermentation occurred in a mix of stainless steel and hybrid French oak and stainless-steel tanks (Banfi’s proprietary “Horizon” system), followed by aging in a combination of French oak barriques and Slavonian oak casks for a minimum of two years. The result is a Brunello that balances tradition and modernity—combining structure, typicity, and elegance. It’s an ideal companion to aged Pecorino, bistecca alla Fiorentina, or truffled mushroom pasta.
