ABOUT THE WINE

Tommaso Bussola’s Amarone Classico comes from the hills near Negrar in the historic Valpolicella Classico zone. Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella form the core of the blend, with smaller local varieties completing the wine. Hillside vineyards and the appassimento process are central to its identity.

Selected grapes dry naturally in the fruit-drying cellar before fermentation. The resulting wine completes fermentation and extended maturation in wooden vessels before further rest in bottle. This is the estate’s regular Amarone Classico in the 2020 vintage, distinct from its TB and Riserva bottlings, and offers the concentration associated with dried-grape winemaking.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Tommaso Bussola began working at his uncle’s estate in 1985 and developed his craft through practical experience in the vineyards and cellar. The family property is rooted in Valpolicella’s terraced landscape, where contrasting basalt and chalky gravel soils contribute to the range of sites.

The domaine remains a family undertaking, with Tommaso and Paolo involved in winemaking and other family members managing the business. The importer describes practicing-organic vineyard work and a commitment to careful selection and patient maturation. That combination of local knowledge and exacting cellar work underpins both the Classico wines and the estate’s more limited selections.
