ABOUT THE WINE

Crafted from the revered Ravera vineyard near Novello, the 2018 Barolo “Ravera” showcases Vietti’s mastery in highlighting site-specific character. The wine is composed entirely of Nebbiolo, harvested from limestone-rich soils at high elevation, which contribute to its lifted aromatics and tightly wound structure. Fermentation takes place in open-top stainless steel tanks, followed by extended maceration and 30+ months of aging in large oak casks.

The nose opens with classic Barolo florals—rose petal, violet, and dried lavender—mingled with savory spices, graphite, and crushed red berries. On the palate, the wine reveals a tightly coiled core of dark cherry, orange peel, balsamic, and wet stone, carried by taut acidity and polished tannins. The 2018 vintage, marked by a cooler growing season, lends the wine precision and tension, promising long-term cellar potential.

Enjoy with traditional Piemontese fare such as truffle risotto, braised veal shank, or aged cheeses.
