ABOUT THE WINE
The 2019 Maria di Brün is a special Barbaresco DOCG made from 100% Nebbiolo Michet, a late-ripening selection produced only in the finest vintages. The south-facing vineyard sits at 278–310 meters above sea level and is planted with vines averaging 47 years of age. Its calcareous clay soils, known locally as the White Marl of Saint Agatha, contribute to the wine’s depth and distinctive site character. After fermentation, the wine ages for 30 months in a combination of large Slavonian oak casks and French barriques, followed by 12 months in bottle.
Deep ruby in color, Maria di Brün is concentrated and full-bodied, with an intense, persistent bouquet and a complex, elegant personality. Its structure and long finish give it excellent cellaring potential. At 15% ABV, enjoy it with braised beef, roasted or game meats and aged cheeses.
