Elegant and finely structured, the 2019 Château Haut Nouchet delivers classic Pessac-Léognan character with poise and depth. Aromas of blackcurrant, graphite, and cigar box lead into a supple, medium-bodied palate layered with dark plum, cedar, and a hint of violet. ABOUT THIS WINE

Crafted from a traditional Left Bank blend of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot, the 2019 vintage reflects the estate’s gravel and clay terroir and its location just south of Bordeaux city. The warm, dry growing season allowed for full phenolic ripeness, and harvesting was done parcel by parcel to retain balance and freshness.
Fermentation took place in stainless steel with a focus on gentle extraction, followed by 12–14 months of aging in French oak barrels, roughly one-third new. The result is a wine that seamlessly integrates ripe dark fruit, pencil shavings, and a subtle smoky nuance, framed by elegant tannins and a precise structure. Classic in profile yet accessible in its youth, it pairs beautifully with roasted duck, grilled ribeye, or mushroom ragout.
