ABOUT THE WINE

The 2022 Coche‑Dury Auxey‑Duresses Rouge comes from Pinot Noir vines in the Auxey‑Duresses appellation of the Côte de Beaune, a village AOC known for red wines that balance fruit purity with earthy complexity. In this vintage, the wine opens with expressive aromas of spiced plum, berry compote and subtle grilled undertones, leading into a palate that combines plush fruit with refreshing acidity and refined structure. Tannins are present but polished, supporting flavors of black plum, licorice and a touch of graphite toward the finish. While approachable upon release, this wine will reward a few years of cellaring to fully knit its components together and reveal greater depth. Though Coche‑Dury’s whites attract the highest acclaim and prices globally, their reds are treasured by Burgundy enthusiasts for their finesse, balance and nuance.
