2019 Domaine De Montille Beaune 1er Cru "Les Perrières", Burgundy, France
A more deeply pitched and slightly riper but still quite fresh nose reflects notes of poached plum and plenty of floral nuances. There is excellent intensity and beautiful detail to the more complex and slightly more persistent finish. This beautiful Beaune 1er displays the slightly chalky texture that it is known for.
ABOUT THIS WINE
The term "Perrières" refers to the old quarries which have long been near the vineyard. Unlike Beaune "les Sizies", the place called "les Perrières" is located on marly and very stony ground, at the top of the hill (near the place called "les Fèves").
The Domaine de Montille plot represents 0.64 hectares; It delivers a mineral, deep and structured wine that needs to spend a few years in the cellar to fully blossom and develop a complexity worthy of a 1er Cru.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
The Montille estate is known for producing wines of great aromatic purity, always favoring balance and elegance rather than power or extraction. The wines are a classic expression of Burgundy, produced in the most natural way possible and with an impressive aging capacity because we believe that only time reveals great wines. The current style of the domain remains faithful to the naturalness and classicism recognized in the wines of Hubert, some vintages of which required a lot of patience, but Etienne endeavors to bring in the reds more openness in the bouquet, and more silky and creaminess in the textures without compromising the aging capacity of the wines. The estate is known with a few others in Burgundy (Arlot, DRC, Dujac, Leroy, etc..
The Domaine has been practicing organic cultivation since 1995. Our wines are now Ecocert certified. From 2005, biodynamics came to complete these practices that respect the soil and living things.
