2019 Domaine des Lambrays Morey-Saint-Denis, Burgundy, France

Generous nose with blackberry and strawberry pastille aromas. Fine delineation, a pretty bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet opening, slightly honeyed in texture, quite concentrated with a ripe mulberry finish. A punter-friendly Morey but no more.

ABOUT THIS WINE

The Morey-Saint-Denis Village comes mainly from vines located a few meters above Clos des Lambrays. When you walk on the path that leads to Clos, the vines are visible a little to the north. Obviously this nuance of situation changes a lot of things. It happens that the frost, as in 2016, reaches the Morey-Saint-Denis Village while the Clos escapes it.

We design this wine as a tribute to the village to which the Domaine belongs.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Despite being enclosed by a centuries-old wall of dried stones, one could spend hours exploring the grounds of the Clos des Lambrays … The Clos des Lambrays is one of the 33 Grands Crus of Bourgogne, located in one of the region’s most precious so-called “Climats”. In between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, the village of Morey-Saint-Denis quietly produces many Grands Crus: Clos des Lambrays, Bonnes-Mares, Clos Saint Denis, Clos de la Roche, Clos de Tart. Among the Côte de Nuits, Morey-Saint-Denis is the village with the largest concentration of vines ranked as Grands Crus.

A worldwide leader in luxury goods, the LVMH Group acquired the Domaine des Lambrays in the spring of 2014, seduced by the passion, savoir-faire and commitment to quality of the Domaine’s winemaking team as well as the opportunity to own an exceptional terroir that has produced wines regarded as among the best of the Bourgogne elite. Committed to respecting the winemaking customs of Bourgogne, LVMH is dedicated to assuring the permanence of the Domaine.

"Most experts would agree that our wines are considered to be rare. We are fully committed to producing wines of extraordinary quality, wines are that appreciated."
