2019 Domaine Pierre Boisson Bourgogne Hautes Côtes De Beaune Rouge, Burgundy, France

The nose has some delicate, ripe red fruit notes: wild strawberries, red plums, sweet cherries, and something really sexy that keeps me intrigued... Is that the oak? There are some notes of toasted country bread and Tonga beans; that's it! It's like vanilla/coffee.
The palate is silky and ripe but balanced with some great power and the right amount of freshness.

ABOUT THE WINERY

Anne and Pierre Boisson don’t make a lot of wine. So even with a 200-year family track record in Meursault - previously Domaine Boisson-Vadot - they lack the name recognition of some of the region’s icons. As a result, their classic, old-vine bottlings represent some of the best values in all of Burgundy. This bright, smooth red comes from a cool vineyard a couple kilometers west of their homebase in Meursault.  This 1.5 hectares vineyard is situated 5 kilometers west of Meursault in the communes of Orche and Baubigny. Vine age is 15-40 years old.

The property is divided into three units: the parents represented by Domaine Boisson-Vadot (3.5 Ha), the son of the entity Pierre Boisson (3.5 Ha) and finally a daughter with the entity Anne Boisson (1.5 Ha).
