100% Malbec with 50% of the wine aged in French and 50% American oak of 2nd and 3rd use for 8 months. The grapes come from organic certified vineyards in Agrelo, Vista Flores, La Consulta, Tupungato, Mendoza - Argentina. Pure fruit stripped from any intervention distant from nature. On the nose, flashes of strawberries and jam as sensory connectors to the best of this varietal. In the mouth, simple and easy going. Its skin is soft as its ending.

Founded by Ernesto Catena, a fourth-generation winemaker of Italian descent, Ánimal wines are all single-varietal and 100% organic-certified. The wines are wild and raw. The grapes are from estate vineyards as well as vineyards with which the winery works closely. In the process, Ernesto Catena Vineyards has helped their neighbors also obtain organic certifications. This not only helps everyone involved make beautiful wine, but also builds a community passionate about protecting the soil of Mendoza.

Ernesto and his team admire the local Inca and Mayan traditions. The majority of the buildings at the winery are inspired by pre-Columbian architecture.

The winery believes in organic and biodynamic agriculture and the connection between us, nature and the universe. Ernesto Catena Vineyards is a work of art in constant metamorphosis, growing under a biodynamic and natural philosophy, in which all the composing elements work in synchrony.
