Sourced from the iconic Cannubi vineyard—known for its unique soil composition of sand, marl, and limestone—the 2019 vintage exemplifies the site’s balance between power and finesse. Fenocchio’s parcel, planted to old-vine Nebbiolo, sits at an ideal elevation with excellent southern exposure, contributing to optimal ripening and aromatic clarity. True to the estate’s traditional methods, fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, followed by an extended 40-day maceration on the skins. The wine then matures for 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks, untouched by new wood or filtration. The result is a wine of lift and structure, with expressive red fruit, floral delicacy, and the kind of latent energy that rewards time in the cellar.
