Sourced from old-vine vineyards planted on the steep, schist-laden slopes of the Douro Valley, the 2019 Niepoort LBV is a testament to the region’s exceptional terroir. Made primarily from a blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Cão, this Late Bottled Vintage Port is foot-trodden in traditional lagares and aged for four years in large wooden vats before bottling. Unlike many LBVs, this wine remains unfiltered, allowing it to develop further complexity with age. The result is a finely balanced, structured Port with impressive depth, ideal for pairing with blue cheeses, dark chocolate desserts, or enjoyed on its own as a contemplative after-dinner drink.
