2020 Biondi Santi Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy
Cherry, redcurrant and pomegranate unfold with rose, violet, wild herbs and orange zest. Crisp acidity and finely shaped tannins bring energy and length to this elegant, estate-grown Sangiovese from Tenuta Greppo.
ABOUT THE WINE
The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is a classic expression of Biondi-Santi’s Tenuta Greppo style: elegant, precise and structured around Sangiovese. Selected fruit from the estate’s proprietary vineyards was fermented with indigenous yeasts in oak casks, concrete and stainless steel, then aged for 24 months in Slavonian oak. The aromatic profile layers fresh-picked cherry, redcurrant and pomegranate with rose petals, violets, wild herbs, orange zest and Asian spice. Crisp acidity and finely sculpted tannins give the wine energy and length.
Grape: Sangiovese Grosso Alcohol: 13.5% ABV
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Biondi-Santi’s Brunello story began in the nineteenth century, and the estate produced the first vintage of Brunello in 1888. Today, Tenuta Greppo continues to emphasize estate-grown grapes, indigenous yeasts and traditional large Slavonian oak casks, creating wines celebrated for freshness, elegance and longevity.
