Sourced from vineyards in the renowned “Clos du Roi” lieu-dit within Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this cuvée reflects the appellation’s hallmark galets roulés (rounded stones) and sandy-clay soils, which retain heat and contribute to the wine’s depth and ripeness. The Mediterranean climate of the southern Rhône ensures full phenolic maturity while maintaining structure through the influence of the mistral winds.
Predominantly Grenache, often complemented by Syrah and Mourvèdre, the blend is vinified with careful extraction to preserve fruit purity and site expression. Aging in large oak foudres and neutral barrels allows the wine to develop complexity without overwhelming oak influence.
