Sourced from the Montmains Premier Cru sector—specifically the Tonnerre climat—this 100% Chardonnay highlights one of the more incisive and mineral-driven expressions within the range. The site’s Kimmeridgian limestone soils and favorable exposition contribute both tension and depth, resulting in a wine that balances intensity with finesse.

The 2023 vintage brings clarity and freshness, with lifted aromatics of citrus peel, orchard fruit, and delicate florals layered over a distinct flinty, slightly reductive edge that adds complexity. Domaine Moreau-Naudet follows a low-intervention philosophy, farming sustainably and fermenting with native yeasts. Aging in stainless steel and neutral vessels preserves the purity of fruit and allows the vineyard character to shine.

On the palate, “Tonnerre” is defined by its drive and precision. The acidity is bright and linear, carrying flavors of lemon, crisp apple, and wet stone across a focused frame.
