ABOUT THE WINE
Cuvée Spéciale Vieilles Clairettes is Isabel Ferrando’s rare white Châteauneuf-du-Pape, made entirely from old Clairette vines in Les Serres. These mature vines form the basis of a wine bottled in magnum, separate from the estate’s other white cuvées and red wines.
The 2022 balances rich fruit with citrus freshness, showing smoky and flinty accents around a detailed, medium-bodied palate. Its concentration comes with freshness rather than heaviness, making it an individual expression of Clairette and the southern Châteauneuf landscape. This listing is the 1.5L magnum.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Isabel Ferrando’s first vintage followed her purchase of Domaine Saint Préfert in 2003. Beginning with vineyards in Les Serres, she developed a reputation for close attention to the estate’s sites and for wines that express the warmer southern part of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Her vineyard work evolved toward biodynamics, with certification in 2022. In the cellar, native fermentation and a range of neutral vessels support a restrained approach to handling the wines. A new winery opened in 2022, and her daughter Guillemette joined the project in 2023, continuing its family character and focus on the land.
