2021 Brown Estate "Rosemary's Block" Zinfandel, Napa Valley, California, USA
A site-driven, elegant take on Zinfandel, the 2021 “Rosemary’s Block” delivers remarkable purity and finesse from one of Brown Estate’s most cherished parcels. Aromas of wild raspberry, pomegranate, rose petal, and baking spice rise from the glass, followed by a vibrant, medium-bodied palate layered with red cherry, blood orange, and hints of white pepper. Silky tannins and fresh acidity give the wine a lifted, almost ethereal texture, culminating in a graceful, spice-tinged finish.

ABOUT THE WINE
“Rosemary’s Block” is a tribute to the matriarch of the Brown family, and this single-vineyard Zinfandel captures the soulful elegance of its namesake. Situated on the Brown Estate property in Chiles Valley, this block benefits from a cooler microclimate and well-drained, rocky soils, which temper Zinfandel’s natural exuberance and yield fruit of exceptional aromatic precision and balance.
In 2021, the vintage brought optimal ripening conditions, resulting in a wine that is both expressive and finely structured. The fruit was hand-harvested, fermented in small lots, and aged in a combination of French and American oak (30% new) for 12 months. The result is a refined and nuanced Zinfandel with a floral, high-toned character and savory complexity. Enjoy it with duck breast, Moroccan lamb tagine, or grilled eggplant with harissa yogurt.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER

With deep roots in regenerative farming and hands-on winemaking, Brown Estate is renowned for its expressive, terroir-driven Zinfandels. Their philosophy emphasizes authenticity, sustainability, and heritage—honoring both the land and the people behind each vintage. Over the years, Brown Estate has become an icon of both quality and cultural significance in Napa Valley, producing wines that reflect place, passion, and perseverance.
