ABOUT THIS WINE

“Aux Thorey” is a premier cru vineyard on the northern side of Nuits-Saint-Georges, near Vosne-Romanée, where the soils are lighter and more limestone-dominant, producing wines with more elegance and aromatic complexity than the more robust crus to the south. The 2021 vintage was cooler and more classical in style, yielding wines with freshness, lower alcohol, and fine detail.

Grapes are organically farmed and hand-harvested, with fermentation carried out using native yeasts and a high proportion of whole clusters—typical of Duband’s style. The wine is aged for about 14 months in French oak barrels, with a moderate use of new wood to preserve purity and structure.

David Duband is among the most dynamic voices in contemporary Burgundy, known for marrying traditional vineyard work with a modern, elegant style of winemaking.
