ABOUT THIS WINE

“Clos de la Rue” is a historic, walled vineyard of just over one hectare, exclusively farmed and vinified by Arnaud Lambert. Located in Brézé—an appellation within Saumur famed for its limestone-rich soils—the site’s high elevation and cool microclimate yield Chenin Blanc of rare tension and finesse. The 2021 vintage was marked by a cooler growing season, preserving acidity and amplifying aromatic nuance. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts in large oak barrels, followed by aging on fine lees for 12–18 months. There is no new oak, allowing the site’s signature—bright citrus, wet stone, and delicate floral notes—to shine through. The magnum format accentuates the wine’s cellar potential, making it ideal for aging or for pairing with refined dishes such as poached lobster, truffle risotto, or aged Comté.
