ABOUT THIS WINE
The 2021 Domaine Odoul‑Coquard Chambolle‑Musigny 1er Cru “Les Baudes” hails from a prized Premier Cru vineyard set just below the Grand Cru Bonnes‑Mares in the northern tip of Chambolle‑Musigny. Planted around 1960 on east‑facing marl‑limestone slopes at 250–300 m altitude, this site yields only about three barrels per vintage. The wine sees careful maturation for approximately 15 months in French oak, with up to 50 % new wood, lending structure without overwhelming its elegance.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Domaine Odoul-Coquard, a family estate based in Morey-Saint-Denis, has quietly built a reputation for producing detailed, site-expressive Burgundies from some of the Côte de Nuits' most coveted terroirs. Now under the stewardship of Sébastien Odoul, the domaine combines traditional winemaking with a modern sensitivity to precision and terroir transparency. With holdings in several top sites across Chambolle, Gevrey, and Morey, their farming is conscientious, following lutte raisonnée principles to minimize chemical inputs and preserve biodiversity.
