2021 Domaine Odoul-Coquard Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, Burgundy, France
A masterful expression of Charmes-Chambertin, the 2021 vintage from Domaine Odoul-Coquard showcases the elegance and depth characteristic of this esteemed Grand Cru. Aromas of ripe red and black fruits intertwine with floral notes and subtle earthy undertones. On the palate, it offers a harmonious balance of richness and finesse, with silky tannins and a lingering finish.
ABOUT THIS WINE
This Grand Cru is crafted from two parcels of 60- to 70-year-old Pinot Noir vines, situated at elevations between 260 and 280 meters with east-facing exposures. The sandy soils, interspersed with chalky rocks, contribute to the wine's refined minerality. The 2021 vintage underwent 15 months of maturation in French oak barrels, 60% of which were new, enhancing its complexity without overshadowing the fruit. The result is a wine of remarkable depth and elegance, suitable for pairing with dishes such as roast duck, veal, or mushroom-based cuisine.
