Refined, fresh, and classically styled, the 2021 Le C de Calon Ségur offers a vibrant expression of Saint-Estèphe from a cooler, elegant vintage. Aromas of redcurrant, black cherry, graphite, and subtle cedar lead into a medium-bodied palate with crisp acidity, fine tannins, and a mineral-tinged finish. ABOUT THIS WINE

Le C de Calon is the second wine of Château Calon Ségur, produced from younger vines within the historic Saint-Estèphe estate. The 2021 vintage, shaped by a cooler and more classic growing season, emphasizes freshness and aromatic clarity over weight.

Made from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc depending on the year), the wine is vinified with gentle extraction and aged in French oak barrels, about one-third new, for 16–18 months.

The result is a bright, precise Left Bank wine with red fruit purity, floral lift, and restrained structure—ideal for early drinking but with the bones to age for 5–10 years. Enjoy with roast meats, mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Château Calon Ségur is a Third Growth estate in the 1855 Classification and one of the most revered names in Saint-Estèphe. Known for its historic heart-shaped label and long-lived wines, the château has undergone a quality revolution in recent decades. Le C de Calon reflects the same meticulous farming and winemaking as the Grand Vin, offering a more accessible but still terroir-driven window into this storied property.
