2021 Peybonhomme Les Tours “Energies”, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, France
A vibrant and soulful Bordeaux with a naturalist’s touch, the 2021 Énergies is alive with tension, purity, and finesse. Wild blackberry, plum skin, and violet aromas lead into a finely chiseled palate of red and black fruits, graphite, and savory herbs. Lively acidity, silky tannins, and a mineral-tinged finish make this an expressive, energetic take on right bank terroir.

ABOUT THIS WINE
Crafted from Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec, Énergies is a biodynamically farmed red cuvée that reflects Peybonhomme’s commitment to vitality in both vineyard and cellar. The 2021 vintage, shaped by cooler conditions and a hands-off approach, was vinified naturally with native yeasts, minimal sulfur, and no oak—preserving fruit clarity and texture.
Grown on clay-limestone slopes overlooking the Gironde estuary, the vines benefit from maritime influence and deep-rooted health. The result is a wine that is both transparent and tactile—juicy yet firm, ripe yet refreshingly restrained. Serve with charcuterie, grilled vegetables, or lentil-based dishes to match its earth-driven elegance.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Château Peybonhomme-Les-Tours is one of the oldest and most respected biodynamic estates in Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Run by Jean-Luc and Rachel Hubert and now involving the next generation, the family has championed organic farming since the 1990s and biodynamics since 2000, long before it became fashionable in the region.
The estate spans 60 hectares in the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, perched on hills overlooking the Gironde. Their philosophy blends ancestral farming wisdom with a progressive, low-intervention approach in the cellar—eschewing chemical inputs and embracing natural vinification to let terroir speak clearly. The “Énergies” cuvée encapsulates this ethos: a wine of vitality, honesty, and expressive balance.
