ABOUT THE WINE
Sourced from the wind-battered, sandy soils of Kick On Ranch in Los Alamos, this Pinot Noir is shaped by extreme diurnal shifts and persistent coastal influence. The vineyard’s unique terroir—high elevation, silica-rich sand, and a cool microclimate—produces grapes with naturally low pH and slow ripening, perfect for a wine of clarity and nuance.
Tatomer fermented the 2022 vintage with partial whole clusters and native yeasts, followed by aging in neutral oak barrels. The approach preserves freshness and aromatic lift while allowing the vineyard’s inherent minerality to shine. This is Pinot Noir at its most transparent—light in color but deep in detail. Serve with duck breast, grilled salmon, or wild mushroom tart.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Tatomer was founded by Graham Tatomer, a Santa Barbara native with deep winemaking roots in Austria, where he trained in the Wachau before returning to California. While best known for his benchmark Rieslings and Grüner Veltliners, Tatomer brings the same laser focus and minimalist approach to his Pinot Noir and Syrah.
Farming practices prioritize sustainability and site expression, with hands-off vinification that allows vineyard character to take the lead. The “Kick On Ranch” Pinot Noir is a standout in Tatomer’s small red wine portfolio—an elegant, ocean-sculpted wine that reflects Graham’s deep respect for terroir and subtlety.
