2022 Bodega de Bardos "Viñedos de Altura", Ribera del Duero, Spain
A very fresh and complex nose, with fruity notes and spicy undertones. Very pleasant on the palate, with velvety, ripe tannins. The acidity integrates with the density, creating a perfect balance. The finish brings back the freshness of the fruit.

ABOUT THIS WINE
This wine is primarily composed of Tinta Fina (aka Tempranillo), although there are also isolated vines of other varieties such as Albillo Mayor and Garnacha Tinta. Grapes come from "extreme" vineyards in Soria, between the towns of Alcubilla and Villálvaro, a region with a long winemaking tradition. Located at an altitude of over 950 meters, these plots are situated in the upper reaches of the Duero River, very close to Urbión, a peak that greatly influences the area's climate. Planted on sandy and fine gravel soils overlying ferric clay, these are old vines with low yields, surrounded by wooded areas full of holm oaks, junipers, and oaks. Manual harvest between September 29 and October 18 followed by fermentation and gentle maceration in 15,000 kg vats at 18º for two weeks. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak containers of different sizes, from 225 liter barrels to casks (600 liters) and large capacity tubs.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
When Raúl Acha and his team created Bardos, they had the option of setting up shop on the prestigious Golden Mile, like the big wineries do, or complicating things and settling in the coldest, highest, and most challenging area of the entire appellation. He chose the second option for one reason: if they wanted to make a bold wine, they needed to surround ourselves with bold people. According to Raúl, the result has made it all worthwhile. The Bardos collection reflects the perfect balance between power and finesse, between complexity and intensity.
The Bardos Project is an initiative in collaboration with Fademur , the Federation of Rural Women's Associations, to support various female entrepreneurship projects in rural areas that help combat depopulation. Each year, we fund a new initiative that promotes innovation, job creation, and the revival of traditional practices. The goal is to provide financial support to women who strive to make a living in rural communities and preserve the rich heritage and culture of our villages.
