ABOUT THIS WINE

The “Signature” Cabernet Sauvignon is Chappellet’s flagship bottling and a long-standing standard-bearer of Pritchard Hill excellence. The 2022 vintage continues this legacy with fruit harvested from steep, volcanic-soil vineyards situated at high elevations. These mountain sites produce low yields of intensely concentrated berries, resulting in a wine of remarkable depth and age-worthiness.

Composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, with small additions of Petit Verdot, Malbec, and occasionally Merlot, the wine is fermented in stainless steel and aged in high-quality French oak barrels (typically 60–70% new) for added structure and aromatic complexity.

Aromatically rich with black cherry, crushed herbs, cedar, and baking spice, it builds on the palate with density and vibrancy. The fine-grained tannins offer both grip and finesse, making it an ideal candidate for cellaring over the next 10–15 years.

This wine pairs seamlessly with robust dishes—think dry-aged steaks, lamb with rosemary, braised short ribs, or hearty mushroom ragù. Decanting recommended for early enjoyment.
