A rare expression of Chardonnay from the Beaujolais region, this Beaujolais Blanc stands out with its luminous freshness and mineral tension. ABOUT THIS WINE
The 2019 Château de Pizay Beaujolais Blanc is made entirely from Chardonnay, a grape more commonly associated with Burgundy but allowed in small quantities in the Beaujolais AOC under the Blanc designation. Grown on granite and clay-limestone soils typical of the region’s northern crus, the fruit benefits from excellent drainage and a mild continental climate, which allows for slow, even ripening.
Vinified in stainless steel to preserve freshness and varietal purity, the wine expresses aromas of white peach, pear, acacia, and lemon blossom, with subtle hints of almond and wet stone. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied with a soft, rounded mouthfeel, balanced by brisk acidity and a mineral backbone that reflects its terroir-driven origins.
Enjoy it as an aperitif or alongside dishes like goat cheese salads, shellfish, roast chicken, or a classic quiche Lorraine.
