ABOUT THE WINE

Château Lécuyer is a small Pomerol estate whose vineyards include a parcel on the appellation’s plateau near Château Clinet, Clos l’Eglise and Château Rouget. The estate’s Merlot-led blend also includes Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Its size allows the wine to remain closely tied to a compact set of vineyard holdings.

The 2022 shows generous black fruit with spice and truffle aromas. Richness is framed by firm tannins and substantial structure, giving the wine a youthful, cellar-worthy character. Production and bottling are carried out by the Château Clinet team, linking this small property with the experience of its neighboring estate.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

The three-hectare property was formerly known as Château de Bourgueneuf. It became Lécuyer when the Petit and Cambier family took over in 2004; the name means “the squire.” One hectare lies on the Pomerol plateau and the remaining two hectares are elsewhere within the appellation.

Ronan Laborde, owner of Château Clinet, acquired the estate in 2022. Lécuyer now benefits from Clinet’s production team while retaining its own vineyard identity. The importer describes its farming as sustainable in practice.
