2022 Division Wine Co. “Polka Dots" Gamay, Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA

The good folks at Division are quite adept at using the méthode ancestrale to deliver delicious wines packing frisky bubbles. This particular pét-nat is a 100% Gamay Noir with righteous grilled peach and jamon aromas. The Polka Dots' pink grapefruit and lemon seltzer flavors fit perfectly with its dazzling acidity.

The Gamay vineyard, Carousel Vineyard, in the Columbia Valley has been their still rosé vineyard since 2013 and has been used as a component for some of the other sparkling wines, but deep down, they knew that the Gamay from Carousel wanted to star in its own bubbles show. This wine literally could replace the mimosa as the greatest brunch accompaniment - something to consider when you're deciding how many bottles to stock up on.

Division Winemaking Company is a Portland, Oregon based winery founded in 2010 by Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe. Division Winemaking Company includes the flagship Division label, the more approachable Division-Villages label, the Gamine brand inspired by the Rhone Valley and a personal expression of co-founder Kate Norris’ love of the region, as well as the experimental Tripod Project label, a collaboration between co-winemaker Tom Monroe, Barnaby Tuttle of Teutonic Wine and Jesse Skiles of Fausse Piste. Division Winemaking Company is also a member of the PDX Urban Wineries Association.
