2022 Domaine Arnaud Lambert "Clos Tue-Loup" Saumur Rouge, Brézé, Loire Valley, France

Elegant, mineral, and finely structured, the 2022 Clos Tue-Loup Saumur Rouge from Arnaud Lambert is a precise and vibrant expression of Cabernet Franc from the limestone-rich soils of Brézé. Aromas of wild red berries, crushed violets, graphite, and herbs lead into a focused, medium-bodied palate with bright acidity, powdery tannins, and a long, stony finish. It’s a refined and terroir-transparent Loire red with real aging potential.

ABOUT THIS WINE

Clos Tue-Loup is a historic walled vineyard on the slopes of Brézé, where shallow topsoil and pure tuffeau limestone create ideal conditions for finely etched, aromatic Cabernet Franc. The 2022 vintage brought a balance of ripeness and freshness, with excellent concentration and lift.

Grapes are organically farmed, hand-harvested, and vinified with native yeasts in concrete tanks, followed by aging in large neutral oak foudres. No fining or filtration is used. The result is a wine that showcases redcurrant, cherry, dried flowers, and mineral spice, wrapped in a taut, elegant frame.
