ABOUT THE WINE
Sourced from a single lieu-dit just above the Meursault village, “Les Grands Charrons” is situated on well-exposed slopes with stony clay-limestone soils, contributing to the wine’s precision and depth. The 2022 vintage, marked by warm, dry conditions and low yields, produced concentrated yet balanced fruit. Whole-bunch pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts, the wine is aged 12 months in French oak barrels (15–20% new), imparting subtle structure without overshadowing purity. The result is a classic Meursault expression: rich in mid-palate weight yet defined by linear drive and mineral clarity. Notes of pear, toasted almond, and flinty reduction develop with air. A natural match for dishes like roast chicken with morels, Comté cheese, or lobster in beurre blanc.

Domaine Chavy-Chouet is a family-run estate rooted in Meursault for seven generations, now led by Romaric Chavy, one of the rising stars in Burgundy. With holdings in both Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, the domaine champions a style that emphasizes balance, terroir expression, and precision over opulence. Farming is done sustainably, with minimal treatments and a focus on soil vitality. In the cellar, Romaric practices low-intervention winemaking: gentle pressing, native yeast fermentation, moderate use of oak, and no bâtonnage.
