The cuvée Blanc Chenin is a blend of two exceptional Chenin Blanc vineyards from the Azay-le-Rideau area. The base for the wine comes from an exceptional two hectare plot on flint terroir in Saché, close to the former studio of Alexander Calder, the famous American artist. These vines in Saché were planted in the 1950s, and are blended with younger Chenin vines from the lieu-dit Hauts Baigneux to create the complex and powerful Blanc Chenin, a testament to the towering quality of this terroir.

Nicolas Grosbois is a child of the Loire Valley and Touraine : he grew up in Bréhémont on the banks of the Loire and has a particular affection for his lands and his terroir and more particularly those of Chinon and Azay-le-Rideau . The chances of life meant that the young winemaker saw the potential of these vines develop from year to year.

10 years of Hauts Baigneux!

In 2012, he bought the Hauts Baigneux estate with his partner and friend Philippe Mesnier . The two partners thus set themselves the challenge of bringing to the forefront a vineyard that is still too little known : Touraine Azay-le-Rideau. The Hauts Baigneux area was born. It draws its strength from a territory of flint clay which manages to deliver ripe whites , still a little coated by their aging but which conceal an appetizing tension.
