The 2022 Les Porets-Saint-Georges is a striking example of how a warm, balanced vintage can enhance the natural power of this terroir without overwhelming its nuance. The vineyard’s clay-limestone soils and southeast orientation offer natural concentration and depth. In 2022, the fruit was harvested at optimal ripeness, yielding a wine that is both texturally rich and aromatically vibrant.

Pinot Noir clusters were partially fermented whole, adding dimension and aromatic lift. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled wooden vats with gentle extraction to preserve finesse. Aging occurred in French oak barrels (around 30% new) for approximately 14 months, allowing the wine to gain complexity while maintaining purity.

This wine shows both breadth and energy—dark cherry, plum skin, and subtle gamey notes are layered with fine-grained tannins and a hint of crushed stone. It’s a compelling match for dishes like roast lamb with rosemary, duck confit, or grilled porcini with herbs.
