ABOUT THIS WINE

Surface area: 90 ares over two parcels:
Monts Luisants: 62 ares; planted between 1955 and 1965 on hillsides with a 25% gradient. Fremières: 28 ares; planted between 1953 and 1960
Thin soil composed of white limestone, clay and marl over compact rock known as “dalle nacrée” (pearly flagstone) from the Middle Jurassic. The wines are always well-coloured, aromatic, dense and complex due to various mineral compounds. The wines are powerful due to their intensity on the palate, but their tannins are concentrated, fine and silky. This is a charismatic wine of great class! Built for very long ageing.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

The vineyard is mainly composed of old vines planted through massale selections, with the oldest dating back to 1936. Since the 1990s, they have embraced soil cultivation practices such as plowing and hoeing, excluding the use of herbicides and insecticides.

At the estate, a conscientious approach to both the vines and the surrounding environment, as well as the preservation of biodiversity, is carefully considered. This becomes even more crucial considering the impact on the vineyard in the face of climate change.

Since 2006, the estate has been following organic practices, and in 2016, Laurent initiated the “AB” (Agriculture Biologique) certification process, which was officially certified in 2019.
