The 2022 Cour-Cheverny is crafted entirely from Romorantin, a grape variety unique to the Cour-Cheverny AOC in the Loire Valley and rarely found outside this tiny appellation. Romorantin was introduced by King François I in the 16th century, and today it lives on in wines like Tessier’s—expressing both heritage and terroir. Grown organically on sandy-clay soils rich in silica, the vines benefit from a cool climate that enhances the grape’s naturally high acidity and freshness.
