ABOUT THE WINE

Evenstad Reserve is Domaine Serene’s flagship Pinot Noir, a blend designed to express the depth and balance of the Willamette Valley. The 2022 is entirely Pinot Noir, harvested between September 28 and October 22. It matured for fifteen months in French oak, with 54% new barrels, before bottling in April 2024.

Dark cherry, sassafras, cola and lilac introduce a layered palate of bramble fruit, raspberry and juicy cherry. A substantial but silky texture gives the fruit breadth, while lively acidity keeps the long finish fresh. The producer recommends charcuterie, poultry or cassoulet. This listing is the 1.5 L magnum.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Grace and Ken Evenstad founded Domaine Serene in Oregon in 1989, inspired by Burgundy and the potential of the Dundee Hills. Their first purchase was a forty-two-acre hilltop property, and their first Reserve wine came from the 1990 vintage.

The estate subsequently developed vineyards across differing soils, slopes and elevations. A gravity-flow Pinot Noir winery completed in 2001 supports its approach to careful handling. Blending across those sites remains central to Evenstad Reserve, joining distinct vineyard characters in one wine.
