ABOUT THIS WINE

​Melon de Bourgogne, traditionally associated with France's Loire Valley, finds a compelling expression in Johan Vineyards' estate within the Van Duzer Corridor AVA. The 2022 vintage underwent a three-hour skin maceration before pressing, followed by barrel fermentation and 11 months of aging on its original lees. This approach, inspired by the Muscadet wines of the Loire, enhances the wine's complexity and mouthfeel. The resulting wine showcases a balance of fruit and acidity, with flavors of green apple, pear, and citrus, underscored by a distinct minerality. Its crisp and refreshing profile makes it an excellent companion to seafood dishes, such as oysters, mussels, and grilled fish, as well as light salads and fresh cheeses.​
