ABOUT THE WINE

Pario combines Valpolicella-style wine and Amarone from the same vintage in equal proportions. Corvina leads the local blend, with Rondinella, Molinara and a little Croatina contributing to its character. Clay-limestone soils around Negrar place the wine firmly in the Valpolicella landscape.

The Valpolicella portion receives a short appassimento to concentrate the grapes while retaining freshness. Fermentation begins in stainless steel, and blending with Amarone takes place during the move into large oak vessels. At least twenty-four months of maturation allows the components to settle together. Bright red fruit meets greater concentration than a straightforward Valpolicella, making Pario suited to slow-cooked meat or aged cheese.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Luca Fedrigo founded L’Arco after learning his craft alongside Giuseppe Quintarelli, with his first vintage in 1998. The winery takes its name from an old stone arch near the family home in Negrar, connecting the project to its local history.

Fedrigo’s work follows Valpolicella’s traditions of careful grape selection, appassimento and patient maturation in large wood. The range also explores international varieties, but its core remains the local grapes and landscape. Pario expresses that heritage through a deliberate blending of two regional wine styles.
