A refined and expressive Alvarinho, the 2022 “Graça da Pedra” from Quinta da Pedra epitomizes the delicate balance of aromatic intensity and sleek minerality characteristic of Vinho Verde’s finest offerings. It presents a luminous straw-gold hue with vibrant green highlights, immediately captivating the senses with lifted notes of white peach, tangerine blossom, and a wisp of green melon. On the palate, crisp acidity and refined texture interweave with mineral undertones, culminating in a persistent, saline-tinged finish that invites another sip.

ABOUT THIS WINE

“Graça da Pedra” is crafted exclusively from estate-grown Alvarinho grapes, cultivated on the granitic slopes of Melgaço in Portugal’s northernmost sub-region of Vinho Verde. The vines are farmed sustainably, with low yields and careful canopy management to ensure optimal concentration and freshness.

Following harvest at cool temperatures, the grapes undergo gentle whole-cluster pressing. Fermentation with native yeasts takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving the vibrant aromatics while developing a clean mid-palate. The wine spends several months on fine lees, enhancing mouthfeel without sacrificing vivacity.

The resulting wine is beautifully balanced—bright citrus and stone fruit drive the palate, while a pronounced stony minerality and brisk acidity deliver structure and refinement. Serve well-chilled alongside grilled prawns with citrus-herb butter, light fish dishes, or goat cheese and garden-fresh salads.
