ABOUT THE WINE
“Poggio Ginepri” is crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, grown in the coastal hills of the Alta Maremma, where proximity to the Tyrrhenian Sea lends brightness and lift to the ripeness of the fruit. In 2022, warm days and cool nights helped achieve perfect phenolic balance. The grapes were vinified separately in stainless steel to preserve purity of fruit, followed by aging in a mix of second- and third-use French oak barriques for 8 months, lending a gentle framework of spice and roundness. The wine opens with aromas of black cherry, wild herbs, and cocoa, with a smooth palate marked by dark fruit, soft leather, and a touch of Mediterranean salinity. Approachable now, it’s ideal with pasta ragù, grilled meats, or aged pecorino.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Tenuta Argentiera is a benchmark estate in the Bolgheri DOC, situated at one of the highest elevations closest to the sea within the appellation. Once part of the historic Tenuta di Donoratico, the estate was reimagined in the early 2000s with a focus on Bordeaux varieties and meticulous viticulture. Today, Argentiera is recognized for producing wines of depth and precision that reflect the dramatic maritime landscape of coastal Tuscany. Sustainability guides vineyard management, with minimal intervention and careful site selection driving quality. “Poggio Ginepri” represents the estate’s more youthful, expressive side—a wine rooted in terroir, but made for pleasure and versatility.
